King of Bollywood

Filmi6 is honoured to present at the celebration of the 5th Masala! Mehndi! Masti! The North American Premiere of 'King of Bollywood' a film by Piyush Jha. Starring Om Puri and Sophie Dahl.

King Of Bollywood is essentially a satirical vehicle portraying the black, white and grey of the Bollywood film industry. Om Puri's sheer brilliance stands out in the portrayal of Karan Kumar, an inexorable Bollywood Star refusing to age gracefully. Sophie Dahl plays a British Documentary Filmmaker who is making a film on the legendary Karan Kumar AKA King of Bollywood. The film is shot in the 'mockumentary' format, which unabashedly pokes fun at Bollywood traditions and formulas.

Filmmaker Piyush Jha will be in attendance for a Q&A session.
